Winstep Devlog#1

This is my first game so this is my first time doing a devlog lol
I'll probably do this a bit different than other developers but you get the gist.
(Oh and yes everything was made by me)
(P. S. X = Canceled development plans, V = Checked off plans that were completed)
Game Title: Windstep
Day 1:
- Created placeholder asset for player and obstacles V
- Created a border around the player that stops player from going above screen and ends the game if
player falls below screen V
- Created a score tracker that counts how many times jumps are made V
- Displays Jump Score V
- Gave player a health item for every 50 jumps made V
- Displays health V
- Created lose condition when player health drops to zero V
- Created a scoreboard room that displays the score V
Day 2:
- Create a buffer (alarm) for transition to next screen X (Kept breaking the game)
- Freeze Player, delete obstacles, and camera shake when HP Zero X (Turned my code into spaghetti)
- Create pixel art of Asona Idle, Jump, Fall, and Defeat X (Yeah, no that'll take too long. Just the Flying animation is enough)
- Create pixel art of Asona Flying V
- Create Title Screen V
- Create Win Screen V
- Add Background Art V
- Create Health Item Art V
- Create Ground Art V (It's literally a single pixel lol)
- Add Gameplay Music V
- Add Particle Effects When Hit X (No)
- Turn Off Image Smoothing V
- Fix text font V
Day 3:
- Create Obstacle Art V
- Add SFX V
- Fix configuration to allow the Game Maker to build the game V (Had to update Visual Studio Code)
- Realease the game on Itch.io V (Ayyy)
- Submit to One Button Jam V
Final Remarks:
This was a very eye-opening experience. There's so much that goes into creating games and I've been putting it off for literally a decade but I thoroughly enjoyed using depreciated code to fight against Game Maker 2 when making this game.
Jokes aside, I think I'll continue to make more. Either another Asona game or an RPG or something lol.
